Professional Biography & Experience
Dr. Susan Turpin came to Piedmont in January 2015 as Associate Professor of Education and Director of Clinical Experiences and Outreach Services in the School of Education. Dr. Turpin received her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education from Piedmont College in 1994, her master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from Clemson University, and the Ph.D. in Educational Leadership from Clemson in 2005.
Dr. Turpin taught for five years in the Banks County Schools, served as an assistant principal in the Hall County Schools for three years, and as an assistant principal and principal in the Habersham County Schools for ten years. In addition to her administrative experience, Dr. Turpin has taught part-time at Piedmont, Concordia University, and University of Phoenix. Most recently, Dr. Turpin served as chair of the Division of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Truett-McConnell College in Cleveland. Dr. Turpin will also serve in 2015 as chairperson of the Department of Early Childhood Education.
