A Piedmont University Degree Is One of the State’s Best Returns on Investment, New Study Finds
Piedmont University provides graduates with one of the best returns on investment among all the state’s private, nonprofit educational institutions, according to a new study by Georgetown University.
“Piedmont University prides itself on offering an exceptional educational experience designed to prepare students for success in their intended careers,” said Piedmont President James F. Mellichamp.
“The Georgetown results are confirmation that our efforts are paying off — in real dollars and cents — for our graduates.”
The Georgetown University Center on Education and Workforce has released an online tool with updated rankings of 4,500 colleges and universities based on new College Scorecard data from the U.S. Department of Education. Georgetown also analyzed earnings after graduation.
The study found that among all private, nonprofit institutions in the state, Piedmont University has one of the top-5 highest returns on investment at 10, 15, and 20 years after graduation.
Georgetown calculates return on investment — which it refers to as net present value — by taking into account costs, future earnings, and the length of time it would take to invest and earn a specific amount of money over a fixed horizon.
