Triple Threat Musical Theater Intensive

Jun 16th, 2025 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Swanson Center for Performing Arts & Communications, 365 College Drive, Demorest, GA 30535

“Triple Threat: A person, especially a performer or athlete, who is proficient in three important skills within their particular field.” (Oxford Dictionary) A triple threat in theatre can sing, dance, and act. Broadway stars like Kristin Chenoweth, Sutton Foster, and Hugh Jackman are all triple threats. Triple threats are not created during a one-week summer intensive, they are not even created during one year of study. It takes years and years of training to master the crafts of singing, dancing, and acting. But, after attending the Triple Threats Intensive at Piedmont University you will know how your skills compare to others your age and you will walk away knowing what training you need to pursue next. We can’t predict if you will become a triple threat, but you will know what it takes to be one.

The Triple Threats Intensive at Piedmont University focuses students ages 14-18 on the foundational skills needed for a career in musical theatre. During this one-week intensive workshop, students work with Piedmont faculty and alums to create a musical revue including student selected scenes and songs from both classic and contemporary Broadway musicals, which will be performed on the last day. During rehearsals, students receive vocal coaching that covers expression, technique, tone, intonation, blend, harmony, and more. Students will also learn a variety of upbeat and expressive choreography, as well as simple dance training, acting instruction, and audition experience including headshots to use later. This summer intensive is designed for high school students who are considering a career in theatre or who are serious about improving their musical theatre skills. Enrollment will be between 10 and 20 students to ensure each student one-on-one attention.

Dates and Times: June 16 – 20, 2025, from 9am to 5pm daily

Location: Swanson Center for the Performing Arts and Communications on the Piedmont University Campus in Demorest, GA

Tuition: $625
