Find Your Place with Us
What makes a college campus special? Certainly, the buildings, the scenery, and the geography all play a role – but it’s the people that give a campus its real personality and atmosphere. At Piedmont University, our people make up a real community that feels like home. A home that supports you and transforms you, both in the classroom and as a person. Our community is one that you will never forget, and one that you will be forever linked to.
Our campuses in Demorest and Athens both offer a unique sense of place, and each cater to a wide range of needs. Depending on what you need and want out of your college experience, you can choose the community that serves you best. Regardless, you will know that, when you leave us, you will be ready for the challenges ahead – and know you have a every Lion ready to support you.

Demorest Campus
Our main campus is nestled on 390-acres in the foothills of Georgia’s Blue Ridge mountains—and all the outdoor recreation advantages that has to offer. Here, students can work toward 80+ different degree choices while enjoying a campus community that becomes a second family with endless ways to connect and get involved. Beyond recreation and the classroom, there are countless adventures and experiences available to our students, including 22 competitive sports teams, Greek life, numerous social and academic clubs, spiritual organizations, and a thriving fine arts community that encourages participation in visual and performing arts by and for our student body.
From traditional liberal arts degrees, such as English and History, to cutting-edge pursuits, such as film production and forensics—as well as education, business, and nursing—students on our Demorest campus can pursue just about everything Piedmont University has to offer, both on an undergraduate and graduate level.
While Demorest offers commuter and evening class options, Demorest is where our on-campus students live – and they do so in comfort. All Piedmont University residence hall rooms are furnished with Wi-Fi, a twin bed, blinds, AC/heat, Internet connection, large refrigerators, and microwaves. Additionally, residence halls include free laundry facilities in every building and many buildings include common areas (lobbies, game rooms, and/or community kitchens) for socializing, studying, and activities organized by Res Life staff.
All Demorest students have access to our top-level dining hall and its local and international cuisine. Meanwhile, the campus Market offers healthy and quick food and beverage options. Our expansive fitness center is also available to students and features exercise equipment to satisfy any regimen.
Lions sports prides itself on gunning for the Commissioner’s Cup – given annually to the top athletic program in Collegiate Conference of the South. In fact, we’ve won 3 consecutive Commisioner’s Cups. Starting in 2003-04, our teams have made 33 NCAA Division III postseason appearances. And, since 2000, our Lions sports teams have claimed a combined 134 regular or postseason crowns. And even those Lions who don’t play love to come out and support their school teams and classmates.
Our Demorest students can enjoy hiking and camping in several nearby state and federal parks, or really get away from it all on the nearby Appalachian Trail and in the woods of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The world-renowned Chattooga River is also nearby (one of the top three whitewater rivers east of the Mississippi River), and so is the Chattahoochee River. Nearby outdoor recreation options include:
