Learning Center
Excel At All Phases of Learning
During your college career, there may be times when you look at your coursework and think, “I just don’t get it.” Or perhaps you’re overwhelmed by time constraints or worried that you’re falling behind the rest of the class. Firstly, don’t panic. It happens to almost every college student at some point. Second, at Piedmont University, our Academic Support staff offers a way to calm your anxieties and make sure you excel in any learning environment.
At our expertly designed Learning Center, a team of committed, qualified, and caring tutors are ready whenever you need them. Established to help our students reach their academic goals, our Academic Support staff can help address any type of learning or studying concern. For example, one student may endeavor to pass a particularly difficult course. Another may aspire to improve their GPA. Whatever their objectives, students can find supportive, professional assistance from Piedmont’s Academic Support team.
We offer 1-1 tutoring and writing support and we have SNAP Groups that focus on collaboration, course-specific learning, study strategies, note taking and test taking skills, and structured study time with peers. SNAP stands for Seeking New Academic Potential and is geared primarily towards Math and Science courses.
Peer tutors are available in-person on the Demorest campus in Lane Hall and Zoom appointments are also available for all students. Our regular hours are Monday through Thursday 8am to 10pm and Friday 8am to 1pm.
Piedmont Learning Center is in the Student Success Center, Lane Hall. For further information about the Learning Center contact: 706-778-8500 x1176.
