The Art degree challenges students to find their artistic voice by providing diverse experiences in art history, aesthetics, and art criticism. Students create work in a multidisciplinary and supportive environment. Trips to regional art museums and opportunities for international travel are a part of the regular curriculum. For students who are planning to teach, the BA in Art Education and BFA programs prepare students for the Masters of Arts in Teaching program at Piedmont College.
Bachelor of Arts in Art
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree is designed for students planning to pursue an interdisciplinary double major or for those students seeking to minor in another field. Both the BFA and the BA degrees are appropriate for students planning to pursue a career in art education through the MAT graduate program.
Bachelor of Fine Art in Art
The BFA program is designed for students planning to pursue a degree in studio art, or for those students seeking a professional career in the arts. A major is offered in arts administration and concentration in 2-D or 3-D studio art and graphic design.
