Dual-Enrollment Students

In modern education, there’s no reason for qualified high school students to wait to begin their collegiate career. That’s why Piedmont University offers dual-enrollment programs, so that advanced high school students can get a jump on some of the best educational opportunities available in north Georgia.

Piedmont’s dual enrollment program allows current high school students to enroll – tuition-free – at Piedmont and complete college-level coursework for credit. This is a perfect opportunity for those students who excel in the classroom to learn from our highly qualified and attentive faculty and staff. We welcome these students – offering classes both in person and online and are proud to help prepare high school leaders to begin a more in-depth level of education.

A Cost-Effective Educational Opportunity

Georgia's Dual Enrollment program is state-funded and covers most costs for eligible high school students, including 100% of tuition for approved courses, all mandatory, non-course related fees, and required textbooks for approved courses. Students are responsible for any non-mandatory fees, such as residence hall fees. Students may also be responsible for any expenses if they take a course that is not published in the Dual Enrollment Course Directory or if they did not receive permission to take the course.

How to Become a Dual-Enrollment Student

Talk to Your School Guidance Counselor
First, you will need to talk with your high school or home school administrators and make certain that you are qualified for dual enrollment. You should also tell them that you are interested in pursuing dual enrollment at Piedmont. Once you begin that process, they will walk you through all the steps that are required to become a dual-enrollment student – including certifying you as a dual-enrollment student through gafutures.org. You MUST certify through this program to be eligible.

Complete the Georgia Dual Enrollment Forms
Students must go online to gafutures.org to complete the Georgia Dual Enrollment program application forms. These documents must be filled out completely, listing what courses the student has permission to take.

Submit All Necessary Paperwork
All potential Piedmont University dual-enrollment students must complete these steps:

• Complete a Piedmont University application – which you can do online via our Undergraduate Admissions Application
• Request your official high school transcripts to be sent to Piedmont University. This can be done through your dual enrollment coordinator or high school counseling offices.

December 15: Application Deadline for Spring 2o27

May 15: Application Deadline for Summer 2026

Registration

New Transfer Student Registration for Summer 2026 will begin April 6, 2026.
New Transfer Student Registration for Fall 2026 will begin April 6, 2026.

Freshmen Registration for Fall 2026 will be completed by an Academic Advisor upon completion of the Guide to the Pride course prior to orientation.

• Guide to the Pride Course will be emailed to students who have paid their deposit (Email will be sent in late April).
• Freshmen who have completed dual enrollment courses outside of Piedmont will need to submit final transcripts once courses are complete from the institution. These courses will be applied to your major track.
