Art Education
Why Pursue Art Education?
Whether you inspire the next generation of artists, spark an appreciation of the arts, or simply get a young mind to explore their own abilities, teaching art is a rewarding and enjoyable experience. Art can be a subject that entices and engages young minds, and that is why art education is an important aspect of modern education. All teachers can build bridges to the future. Art teachers spark curiosity, ensuring those bridges lead to interesting places.
Piedmont’s undergraduate art education program addresses the needs of the artist who has an interest in teaching in a public or independent school setting. Designed to produce teachers who have a balance between well-grounded educational theory and a more “hands-on” experience, the program enables candidates to teach in all PK-12 classrooms as an art specialist.
