Piedmont to host Commencement July 24

Piedmont College will celebrate spring and summer graduates during Commencement ceremonies to be held July 24 in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center.

The undergraduate ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. with a graduate-level ceremony to follow at 2 p.m.

President James F. Mellichamp and Board of Trustees Chairman Thomas A. “Gus” Arrendale III will congratulate students receiving Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Science, Master of Business Administration, Master of Arts, Master of Arts in Teaching, Education Specialist, and Doctor of Education degrees.

To allow for social distancing, only graduates, faculty, and staff will participate in the ceremonies. Family members and friends may view a live video stream of the event by visiting the Piedmont Facebook page or the Piedmont YouTube page.

In the interest of keeping the ceremony brief, there will be no keynote address. All participants will have their temperature taken before entering the building and will be required to wear face coverings. Seating will be arranged so that attendees are social distanced.

During the ceremonies Piedmont will present awards to recognize academic achievement, exemplary student character, and excellence in teaching and academic advising.
