Professional Biography & Experience

Dr. Camp belongs to several professional societies including the Herpetologists’ League, the American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists, the Society for the Study of Reptiles and Amphibians, and the Association of Southeastern Biologists. He belongs to a folk-music ensemble based in the First Baptist Church of Cornelia and teaches English as a foreign language for local Hispanics. Dr. Camp has an active research program which involves undergraduate students. He has numerous scientific publications, many of which were co-authored with undergraduates. He is broadly interested in the ecology and evolution of amphibians and reptiles, with a specific focus on the evolutionary ecology of lungless salamanders of the Southern Appalachians.
