Service

Professor Baugus-Wellmeier is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau. In addition, she teaches CPR to middle school students and CPR/First Aid to teachers. For more than 30 years, Professor Baugus-Wellmeier has practiced critical care nursing in Atlanta and Athens Georgia. During this time, she has served in positions of unit management, nursing education, and direct patient care of the critically ill adult. For more than 20 years, she has taught classes on subjects related to critical care nursing, and she is an instructor for the American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support courses. She has also co-authored a paper on the clinical excellence of the Cardiac ICU in which she has practiced for more than 20 years. This paper won the Cardiac ICU the Silver Beacon Award for clinical excellence awarded by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
