Dr. Brittany Harmon earned her Doctor of Education in Special Education with a focus on Autism from Nova Southeastern University in 2023. Prior to that, she graduated from Valdosta State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2014, followed by a Master of Education in Communication Sciences and Disorders in 2016.

Dr. Brittany Harmon earned her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) in 2017 and has maintained her ASHA certification annually. In 2020, she completed her certification as a Certified Trauma Support Specialist through the Arizona Trauma Institute.

As a dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist, Dr. Harmon brings extensive expertise in the areas of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), autism spectrum disorders, low-incidence populations, complex communication needs, syndromes, severe/profound intellectual disabilities, and trauma-informed practices.

Her professional experience includes serving as a CCC-SLP in both clinical and school settings. She also worked as a Special Education Coordinator before joining Piedmont University, where she continues to advance education, mentor the next generation of speech-language pathologists, and support individuals with unique needs. Currently, Dr. Harmon serves as Assistant Professor and Clinical Supervisor for Communication Sciences and Disorder at Piedmont University. Dr. Harmon actively contributes to the Piedmont University Speech and Language Clinic and extends her expertise to the local community through school-based supervision and outreach initiatives.
