New Student Orientation

Welcome to Your University!
If you are new to our school and are ready to start your life as a Lion, this is the place to be! We are excited to share this experience with you and cannot wait to introduce you to the Piedmont University community.
Piedmont’s campuses are vibrant, exhilarating places to be, and we are ready to help you prepare for your time with us.
Orientation is required for all new students.
Keeping it the MANE Thing
The Piedmont University M.A.N.E. Experience, formally known as orientation, is designed to help students experience a successful transition to the institution and assist family members in understanding their student’s experience during this time.
Freshmen Take Note!
Getting your college career off to a great start is important. That’s why Piedmont’s summer orientation is mandatory for all freshmen students to attend – and we highly encourage students to bring a guest.
While the student attends sessions with their MANE Leader, faculty, and staff, the student’s guest will attend sessions from various departments on campus, including student accounts, academic affairs, and student affairs. These sessions will help parents and family members know what to expect and how to best support their students while at Piedmont University.
Orientation is crucial in providing all new students with information about being a successful college student at Piedmont University. Students will learn specifics about the university’s academic requirements and all the campus resources available to them.
Summer Orientation 2026:
- Friday, June 12, 2026
- Friday, June 26, 2026
- Friday, July 24, 2026
If you cannot attend any of the dates above or have any questions or concerns, please contact Chelsea Wilkes, Director of Campus Experience and Operations at cwilkes@piedmont.edu.
Transfer Students (Demorest & Athens)
Transfer students are students who attended a different college/university after graduating high school. But just because you’ve already been a college student somewhere else doesn’t mean that you can expect to just drop right onto our campus and be ready on day one – every campus is unique and takes some time to get used to. That’s why we offer a special transfer orientation for those students coming to us from another institution of higher learning. You will need to register for these sessions. (Please note these orientation sessions are not designed to include students who have taken dual enrollment courses during high school. Those students will still need to attend freshman orientation.)
