Welcome back! Here at Piedmont College we never want to forget the importance of the past when looking toward the future. Alumni Relations plays a key role in keeping alumni involved in campus life and celebrating their continuing successes. Be sure to stay connected with fellow alumni as well as your alma mater.
Katherine Rice (BS in Nursing, ’12)
Katherine Rice (’12) has found an unconventional way of pursuing her career goals. After earning a BS degree in nursing, she launched her career in Gwinnett Medical Center’s labor and delivery unit. Two years later, she transitioned to travel nursing. This new gig has taken her to 10 cities in nine states for 13 different travel contracts. This includes Georgia, Connecticut, California, Washington, Hawaii, Massachusetts, New York, Colorado, and Arizona. Traveling has allowed Katie to gain value experience from different hospitals and learn about other regions of the United States.
Katie has this to say about her time at Piedmont:
“One of my favorite things about my time at Piedmont was how small the school was, therefore everyone was close. It is where I made some of my best friends and I had so many wonderful experiences. I love my Piedmont friendships and will forever be thankful I met those people during my time there. Nursing school had ups and downs but, I look back at the teachers who supported me during the tough parts and know that they helped me be the nurse I am today.”
Social media has made it possible for our alumni to stay connected with Piedmont College and each other. Piedmont Alumni utilizes the following social media platforms:
The Piedmont College Alumni Association helps to build relationships between alumni and the college through local and regional programming. They sponsor events in support of the goals and objectives of the college as well as social events such as Alumni Weekend, the Coach Cave Golf Tournament, young alumni events, and student/alumni events.

At the beginning of every month, an e-newsletter is sent out to all subscribers sharing with them current campus news and upcoming events, and annual fund information. Follow the link above to view past eJournal editions.
