Piedmont Basketball to Host Summer Camps

Piedmont University’s basketball programs will host summer camps again this year in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center and Cave Arena on the Demorest campus. Piedmont Lions men’s and women’s basketball coaching staffs lead the three camps.

Summer Basketball Camp for rising first-grade to sixth-grade boys and girls will be held 8 a.m.-noon, Monday-Thursday, July 31-Aug. 3. This camp is suitable for beginner and more advanced players with a focus on having fun while working on basketball fundamentals through drills and competitive games. Both on-campus gyms will be used to help separate campers based on age, gender, and skill level. The cost is $110 (plus a processing fee for online registration). There is a $20 discount for each additional sibling who registers. The cost includes a camp t-shirt if the camper is registered by July 24.

Advanced Instruction/3v3 Camp is designed for rising seventh-grade to ninth-grade boys and girls and is scheduled for 2-4 p.m. from July 31-Aug. 3 in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center. This camp is geared toward older and more advanced players. The camp will consist of one hour of instruction and one hour of live 3v3 play using the constraints taught during the first hour. Campers will be separated based on gender for 3v3 play. The cost is $70 (plus a processing fee for online registration). A $10 discount is applied for each additional sibling from the same family. The cost includes a camp t-shirt if the camper is registered by July 24.

Boys' Elite Camp for rising ninth-grade to twelfth-grade boys who are interested in college basketball will be held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 6. This camp will include college-level individual and team drills, a college scouting report, live play, and conversations with current college players and coaches. The cost is $55 (plus a processing fee for online registration) and includes a camp t-shirt. Spots are limited, and the registration deadline is July 31.
