Veterans Services

The Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) determines the amount of benefits you receive. Please allow 10 weeks for processing. The Registrar/School Certifying Official (SCO), Carla Edenfield, ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) is the Certifying Official at Piedmont College. The Certifying Official is responsible for monitoring the academic progress of all students receiving educational benefits from the DVA. Our office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m. Students receiving benefits should follow the steps listed below:

1. Who should I notify about my benefit eligibility? Please notate this on your application to Piedmont. You will also need to fill out the Piedmont College Veteran's Education Benefits Request Form, found on our webpage at www.piedmont.edu. This is to request that you want to be certified for benefits or if there is a change in your benefits. You can also to contact the Registrar/SCO.

2. How do I receive benefits? We highly recommend that you start by registering for an account with eBenefits. The website gives you the ability to manage your benefits and personal information with the VA. Visit www.ebenefits.va.gov.

New Students

1. After you have registered for eBenefits, you will fill out a Veterans Online Application (VONAPP).

2. Fill out the Piedmont College Veteran's Education Benefits Request Form. Please note: this form only needs to be filled out once.

3. Once your Certificate of Eligibility is received, please bring a copy to the Registrar.

4. After you have registered for classes, the Registrar will submit your certification in VA Once (VA Certification Online).

Transfer Students

1. After you have registered for eBenefits, you will need to fill out the 22-1995 form. Please notify the Registrar/SCO that you are transferring your benefits.

2. Fill out the Piedmont College Veteran's Education Benefits Request Form. Please note: this form only needs to be filled out once.

3. Once your Certificate of Eligibility is received, please bring a copy to the Registrar/SCO.

4. After you have registered for classes, the Registrar will submit your certification in VA Once (VA Certification Online).
