Spiritual Life Organizations

Spiritual Life organizations rely on student initiative and emphasize freedom of expression, dialogue, and recognition of diverse convictions and beliefs. Activities focus on fellowship, outreach, worship, reflection, compassion, and social justice, frequently varying from one year to the next.

FCA - Fellowship of Christian Athletes

Piedmont has an active Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) that is open to all students. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. FCA present to coaches and athletes, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationships and in the fellowship of the church. Haystack Society

The Haystack Society plans worship and fellowship activities in conjunction with the Office of the Chaplain, such as the 9-11 prayer service, Christmas tree-lighting, Ash Wednesday communion service, and Earth Day. The Choir sings the national anthem at selected athletic events. Ignite Student Ministry

Ignite Student Ministry is a non-denominational group of Piedmont students whose purpose is to deepen our faith as a group through fellowship, outreach, and discipleship. Ignite meets weekly throughout the school year, and provides opportunities to participate in multiple service projects each year to benefit our campus and community. To deepen our faith as a group through fellowship, outreach, and discipleship is our purpose. ADVISOR: Jody Anderson

Washington Gladden Society

Named after a Congregational minister known for leading the Social Gospel of a century ago, the Washington Gladden Society serves as an umbrella for social justice concerns on both campuses. Students are encouraged to plan forums or outings that raise awareness of current issues confronting our nation and world, and to act to bring about the good. ADVISORRev. Tim Garvin-Leighton
