First, the Admission Process to Piedmont College
Your first step is to contact our admission’s office to arrange a tour and learn more about the nursing program at Piedmont College. Student should complete an application to Piedmont College (and it’s FREE). Once accepted to the college, the student will select their major as pre-nursing and are assigned a nursing faculty to serve as their advisor for the duration of the program.
Second, the Prerequisites
During the first two years, the student works to complete all of the general education and required pre-requisites for the nursing program (click here for the 4-year plan).
Third, the Nursing Education
The last two years are spent in the nursing program completing all course, clinical, lab, and simulation requirements.
A supplemental application is required and generally completed in the Fall semester of the sophomore year. High-school students enrolling in Piedmont College as a freshman who are completing their general education pre-requisites and who meet all requirements (GPA, competitive TEAS score, academic integrity) are granted conditional approval to the nursing program. Please note that students must have a 3.0 GPA for all required nursing pre-requisite courses (this may not be the same as overall GPA). Admission to the nursing program is competitive and this opportunity provides students who begin at Piedmont College the advantage of mentoring and prioritized consideration for admission. We hope you will consider “Living like a Lion” with us for 4 years!
