Ashlyn Pope is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Charles Joyner Institute for Gullah and African Diaspora Studies at Coastal Carolina University (South Carolina). Her work for “A History of Moving Forward” includes ceramics and textiles. Pope’s work has been shown widely at institutions such as the FSU Museum of Fine Arts at Florida State University (Florida), the Palmer Museum of Art at University Park (Pennsylvania), and Baltimore Clayworks (Maryland). She was featured on the cover of Ceramics Monthly in December 2023.
