Teachers build bridges to the future: Art teachers ensure those bridges lead to interesting places. At Piedmont College, you build a personal visual voice as an artist while learning the art of teaching. Your skills of teaching and making develop in a supportive environment set in inspiring facilities led by dedicated faculty. You have the opportunity to sharpen skills in ceramics, digital fabrication, drawing, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture.
About the Program
An art education degree prepares teachers for initial certification. The theme of the School of Education is “Mastering the art of teaching: Preparing proactive educators to improve the lives of all children.” The School of Education and the Department of Art together strive to prepare scholarly, reflective, proactive educators in a caring environment with challenging and meaningful learning experiences. Art education at Piedmont College culminates in an internship teaching in a public classroom during your final semester.
