World Café
World Café is a large group discussion format that allows interested persons to participate in small group conversations. As time progresses, small groups break apart and new ones form. Providing this atmosphere to discuss important and sometimes controversial topics allows for all involved to speak and listen to multiple perspectives.
QEP introduced the World Café discussion format to students, faculty, and staff of Piedmont College in the Fall of 2010. Since then, the format as reappeared in several subsequent college-wide World-Café’s as well as in faculty meetings and assemblies.
The QEP was proud to involve the Psychology Club in planning a World Café for the Demorest Campus in the Spring of 2011. That event was such a success, the Psychology Club eagerly took on the responsibility of hosting World Cafes on an annual basis!

Ethics Bowl 2011
Seven teams arrived at Lakeside Dining Room on February 14, 2011 ready to debate topics about current ethical issues. Prior to the event, each team was given a case study to review and discuss. Teams took turns answering randomly selected questions related to the cases. Organized by Dean John Misner in the School of Business, QEP Fellow Brooke Ayers, and Rev. Ashley Cleere, the teams competed in front of their peers for cash prizes. The event was such a success that many students asked when the next one will take place. Stay tuned for details about our next Ethics Bowl, coming Spring 2011.
