Personal Growth

As part of Piedmont College’s focus on Critical Thinking, the QEP recognized a need to help students think critically about their future. In response, a series of Career Days and Career Workshops were initiated to better prepare students for their professional lives after Piedmont.

Career Day

Career Day was introduced in the Spring of 2010 and held for a second time in the Fall 2010. Each Career Day offered multiple career preparation workshops: Sizing Up Your Strengths, Marketing Yourself & Resume Writing, Negotiating Your Salary, Interviewing Skills, and Job Search Etiquette; student-led performances: Dress for Success and What Not to Do in a Job Interview; resume critiques; graduate school information; and mock interviews hosted by faculty and local professionals.

Career Workshops

QEP began hosting Career Workshops during the Fall Semester of 2011. The workshop format was implemented as an effort to expand the opportunities of Career Day to a wider audience of both traditional and non-traditional students, alumni, and the surrounding community. These workshops were held twice on each campus: once during the lunch hour, and once in the evening.
