Undergraduate Financial Aid
The Piedmont College Financial Aid Office is committed to helping students secure the necessary funds to earn a higher education and understand their rights and obligations associated with receiving those funds. These services are provided with the strictest confidentiality, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.
For students visiting our office,
Please have your student ID with you. This ID allows us to access your records.
If you are a parent or spouse wishing to discuss your student’s records,
First, have your student provide our office with written consent to share their account information. FERPA Disclosure Consent
Please have your student’s Piedmont Student ID# ready. Without this ID#, we will not be allowed to discuss that student’s records with you.
Application Procedures
Step 1: Complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through www.fafsa.ed.gov
OR
An application for ONLY Institutional Aid at Decline FAFSA.
Step 2: Allow 14-21 days for your FAFSA results to be processed and an award letter detailing the aid you are eligible to receive will be mailed to you. Returning students will have their award letters e-mailed to their Piedmont Lions accounts.
Step 3: Return a signed copy of the award letter to our office.
- First-time borrowers: Complete both Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note at www.studentloans.gov to accept student loans. Parent borrowers must also complete a Master Promissory Note at the same address.
Summer Financial Aid Application Procedures
Step 1: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) through www.fafsa.ed.gov if you wish to be evaluated for federal need-based aid.
Step 2: Complete the Summer Aid Application
Step 3: Return a signed copy of the award letter to our office.
Scholarships and Grants
Listed below, you’ll find links to various institutional documents and government websites that describe the kinds of aid students are automatically evaluated for at the time of their award. However, scholarships and grants are offered by many organizations, including national honor societies, local businesses, churches and more. Therefore, we encourage students to be proactive regarding outside scholarships.
For incoming freshmen, high school counselors are often a valuable resource in the search for additional funds and many maintains lists of local scholarships you may be eligible to receive.
