Maryville, TN -- The Piedmont College baseball team pulled off the unthinkable yet again with their second straight come-from-behind victory tapping another late rally to take a 5-4 victory over the Hawks of Huntingdon College in the 2011 Great South Athletic Conference championship baseball game Sunday afternoon. The Lions erased a 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the eighth before snaring a walk-off win in the bottom of the 11th to take their first GSAC crown since 2008. (More)

Macon, GA -- The Piedmont College softball team roared to their second straight Great South Athletic Conference championship tournament title on Sunday with a second win over the Lady Hawks of Huntingdon College. The Lady Lions rode a pair of two-run home runs from catcher Emily Cheek and a lights-out pitching performance from senior B.J. LaGrange, GA -- The Piedmont College men's tennis team completed a thrilling 5-4 victory over top-seeded Huntingdon College Sunday afternoon in the championship match of the 2011 Great South Athletic Conference tournament to claim their first league title since 2007. Head Coach Shane Wood's first season back as the tennis coach at Piedmont ends the same way his last season at the helm of the successful program did - with a GSAC championship trophy in hand following a gutsy performance from his Lions on the court. The Piedmont College women's golf team earned the title of 2011 Great South Athletic Conference Golf Championship Tournament champs March 26 by running away from the field at the league's first-ever event.  The team posted a season-best team score of 324-324--648 to finish 54 strokes ahead of the field. (More)
