'Cantabile' to perform Oct. 29
The Piedmont College Cantabile will perform in a free concert at 5 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 29, in Brooks Hall in the Center for Worship and Music on the Demorest campus
Cantabile is a highly select, 10-member group of singers who specialize in a cappella jazz, pop arrangements, and novelty songs, as well as secular and sacred chamber music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods. With a reputation as a highly entertaining and skilled group of singers, Cantabile performs in concert, at special events on campus and in the community, and on tour.
For Tuesday's concert, they will be singing songs from England, Germany, Portugal, and the U.S. from the 19th and 20th centuries about the celebration of love and love lost. Composers include, David Keith, Brahms, Juan Capone, William Bennett, Rogers and Hammerstein, Mark Hayes, Crosby Stills and Nash, Carole King, Bonnie Raitt, and the Beatles.
