Comedian Cristela Alonzo to perform at Piedmont College

Standup comedian Cristela Alonzo will be at Piedmont College Oct. 31, performing a 7:30 p.m. show in Jenkins Auditorium in Daniel Hall.

Since 2010, Alonzo has been a semifinalist on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing,” part of Showtime’s “Legally Brown” stand-up special, and was on Gabriel Iglesias’ “Stand Up Revolution” on Comedy Central. Most recently, she made a late-night debut on the Conan O’Brien show.

On top of her stand-up success, Alonzo has won awards for short films and was awarded Best Film at the Boston Comedy Festival for one of her musicals. She wrote a sketch that was named one of Latina.com’s “Five Funniest Sketches of the Decade.”
