Henry Johnson
Associate Professor of Theatre

M.F.A in Design from the University of Georgia
B.A. in Theatre from Brenau College

Mr. Johnson primarily teaches courses in the technical and design courses in the theatre department.  These courses include Introduction to Technical Theatre, Beginning Scenography, Advanced Scenography, Lighting Design, Makeup Design, Scene Painting, Special Effects and Pyrotechnics for the Stage, and Theatre Management.

Mr. Johnson is a member of the International Association of Theatre and Stage Employees and the International Brotherhood of Magicians.  Henry also volunteers with the Crawford W. Long Museum in Jefferson, GA and by performing “Doc Johnson’s Travelling Medicine Show (recognized by the Smithsonian for its accuracy) for various benefits and charities.  Likewise, the “Doc Johnson” character hosts the Mountain Music & Medicine Show on Georgia Public Broadcasting

Mr. Johnson has served on the Curriculum Committee for Piedmont College and was instrumental in creating the BA in Technical Theatre and Design for Piedmont College’s Theatre Department
