Piedmont College to hold summer basketball camps

Piedmont College basketball head coaches Greg Neeley and Jamie Purdy will lead basketball camps for boys and girls ages 7-10 and ages 11-18 this summer. The camps will run from July 7-10 at the college’s Johnny Mize Athletic Center in Demorest. For boys and girls ages 7-10, the camp will be held from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m.. For ages 11-18, the camp runs from 1:30-5 p.m. The cost is $95. For registration information, visit www.piedmont.edu/basketball.

The camp is designed to serve the needs of beginning and advanced players. Campers can expect to work on basketball fundamentals including shooting, passing, dribbling, screening, moving without the ball, post moves, defense, and rebounding. Campers will also participate in skill competitions, 5-on-5 games, and be exposed to some of the workouts that student-athletes at Piedmont College experience.

Each camper will receive a T-shirt and prizes will be given to winners of camp contests. Campers will also be invited to be recognized at a specific Piedmont College home game next season.
