Baroque chamber group here Nov. 1
'Echoing Air," an ensemble specializing in English Baroque chamber music, will perform at Piedmont College at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 1, in the college chapel in Demorest.
Based in Indianapolis, Echoing Air is composed of internationally recognized performers who have worked with leading proponents of early and contemporary music including the Bach Ensemble, Ensemble Galilei, Musica Antiqua Köln, Ensemble Voltaire, and Chanticleer, and have performed in venues such as the Boston Early Music Festival and the Proms in London. The group recently returned from England, where concerts were presented in Berwick and Brighton.
The founding members of Echoing Air are professional educators as well as performers, holding teaching positions in the Indianapolis area. For the Piedmont concert, Echoing Air will perform works by Henry Purcell (1659-1695) and Thomas Morley (1557-1602).
