Candice Felice, WPPR Program Director
Candice Felice graduated from Piedmont College in 2007 with a B.A. in Mass Communications and on December 2011 she earned a M.B.A. in Managerial Leadership. She began her career as the Local Program Director for Georgia Public Affiliate Station 88.3 FM-WPPR/WPPR H-D Demorest, located in the Swanson Center on Piedmont’s campus in August 2008.
In her many responsibilities as WPPR’s Program Director, Candice hosts Community Life in Northeast Georgia, which is a weekly one hour evening program on Tuesday nights from 7-8 p.m., and the third Friday of each month from 3-4 p.m.
The local branding and programming for the station produced through weekly community calendar updates, bi-monthly local interest features, and the weekly Community Life in Northeast Georgia program, is yielding an overwhelmingly good response not only locally, but on a national scale as well, via its web site presence on www.gpb.org/wppr. This web presence provides pod cast and iTunes links for those living outside of the coverage area.
Listener email and thank you letters have come from Alabama, California, Colorado, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, and as far as away Canada and England.
Because the local programming focuses on community and cultural events from Northeast Georgia’s rich history, which impacts not only local residents but the State as well, many residents have said the station’s program topics are fostering good will and promoting community pride.
