Dr. Mark Gardiner
Dr. Mark Gardner received his Ph.D. In Economics from Georgia State University. He also received his M.A. in Economics from Duke University and Vanderbilt University. As a professor with a specialty area in economics, Dr. Gardner invests his time doing research on the history of American department stores. After writing eight short papers in this area, he is in the process of doing research on one more company, Sears.
Aside from his teaching and research, Dr. Gardner lends a hand in the Great Decisions foreign policy discussion group at Piedmont College in Demorest, and is a member of the Clarkesville Lions Club as well as the Chattahoochee Mountain Fair Board. His previous achievements include two Fulbright teaching and research fellowships. One fellowship was to Swaziland in 1989-90, and one to Ukraine in the fall of 1998. Dr. Gardner also served as an evaluator for the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs.
