Yonah Brass to perform at Piedmont Sept. 30 (9-27-05) A brass chamber ensemble based in Cleveland, Ga., Yonah Brass, will perform classical as well as traditional and modern American music in a free concert at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Piedmont College Center for Worship and Music in Demorest. The program includes "Pictures at an Exhibition" by Mussorsky, with Mickey Kennedy, piano; selections from the cantatas of J.S. Bach, including "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring; "General Mixup, USA" by Thomas Allen; "The Preacher" by Horace Silver; "Old American Songs" arranged by David Baldwin, and "Largo al Factotum" by Rossini. Joy Hayner will also accompany some works on the Sewell Pipe Organ. -30- |
