Piedmont Chamber Singer to perform Nov. 9 The Piedmont College Chamber Singers will present a concert at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 9, in the Center for Worship and Music in Demorest. The free concert, titled “Psalms, Hymns and Spiritual Songs,” will feature works from the 16th century to the present and includes songs by Heinrich Schütz, Anton Bruckner, Rene Clause, Benjamin Britten, and Peter Warlock. A select 40-voice choir under the direction Dr. Wallace Hinson, the Chamber Singers have performed concerts all across the U.S. and Canada. Also performing will be Cantabile, select group singers from the Chamber Singers who specialize in jazz, pop arrangements, and novelty songs, as well as secular and sacred chamber music from the Renaissance and early Baroque periods.
