(5-5-05) The Community School of Music at Piedmont College will hold a summer semester for children and adults who want to learn to sing or play the piano, guitar or pipe organ.

The semester will begin May 30 and conclude with a summer recital in the college's Center for Worship and Music on July 30. The course includes eight weekly half-hour or one-hour private lessons for beginner and advanced students, as well as some group classes.

Voice classes are available for students 12 or older, and guitar and piano are available for students age 7 and up. Pipe organ students should have at least five years of piano experience, although students can enroll by audition. The half-hour classes are $125 for the semester, and one-hour lessons for students age 10 and older are $250.

"The Community School is a fantastic way for children and adults in our community to take advantage of the talent and facilities available at Piedmont College," said director Melinda McClenahan.

Enrollment in the Community School is limited, and interested students should contact McClenahan at (770 402-2907 or by e-mail at burtontree@alltel.net.
