Alaska's Fiddling Poet to perform
at Piedmont Feb. 12
Ken Waldman, an Alaskan musician also known as the "Fiddling Poet," will
perform from 5-6 p.m., Feb. 12, in Brooks Hall at the Piedmont College Center
for Worship and Music in Demorest. The free performance is part of the college's
"Early Bird Concert" series.
A former college professor, Waldman has published two books of poetry, and
his work has been featured in numerous national journals. He has also released
three CDs of music and poetry and has performed at clubs, art festivals and
universities across the country.
Waldman has been writing poems and fiddle tunes for almost 20 years on such
topics as his home in Alaska, relationships, comedy and even a 1996 plane
crash that left him a "walking dead man."
The Fiddling Poet's shows are unique, because by his own admission he "never
knows what is going to happen. I have a story or a poem for every occasion."
