Music lessons for children and adults begin again in January The Community School of Music will hold registration for the spring semester at 4:30 p.m., Jan. 5, in the Center for Worship and Music at Piedmont College in Demorest. With lessons taught by senior music students at Piedmont, the non-profit Community School offers classes in voice, guitar, piano, organ, woodwinds and brass. Most classes are open to children and adults of any experience level, although organ students should have at least five years of piano experience. New in January will be a youth chorus for boys and girls ages 8-12, said school director Melinda McClenahan. Also new for 2006 are classes for woodwinds and brass. The half-hour private lessons meet once per week for 15 weeks, and tuition is $225 per semester. Students over age 10 can opt for one-hour lessons for $450 per semester. "This school is a fantastic way for children and adults to take advantage of the talent and facilities available at Piedmont College," McClenahan said. Enrollment is limited, and for more information, students or parents can contact McClenahan at (770) 402-2907 or email csm@piedmont.edu. -30- |
