I earned my Bachelor’s of Science in mathematics at University of Virginia - Wise with minors in physics and philosophy in the Spring of 2004.
Before finishing my undergraduate degree, I, along with my wife, worked as American Sign Language interpreters in school systems in Virginia and freelance interpreted in Pensacola and Panama City, Florida. Before doing that, I was employed in various and sundry jobs including marina attendant and census taker.
In the copious free time that I have, I’m playing the piano, guitar, or dulcimer, or else I'm reading. I like to read and discuss philosophy and/or religion, and I really enjoy speculative fiction.
My wife, Kelly, is a licensed massage therapist. After 14 years of marriage, we celebrated the birth of our first child, Chloe Isabella Roberts on June 4, 2012.
