Eligibility
Trip Criteria
To
qualify for participation in a mass communications sponsored trip,
students must meet the following criteria:
-Be
a full-time student at the college
-Be a mass communications major or minor
-Maintain a 2.5 G.P.A. or higher
-Demonstrate significant contribution to the department
-Be approved by the entire mass communications faculty
-Provide an essay explaining how they would benefit from the trip
and substantiate department contribution
-Agree to produce a follow-up project after the trip is concluded
that communicates information to other students
The
Student Leadership Council indicated that character was to be considered
most important in the selection of candidates. Character attributes
determined to be most important include:
- Consistency
-Leadership
-Positive attitude
-Team player- gets along well with others
-Fulfills responsibilities to the department in a timely manner
Seniority
In
most cases, students will be eligible for one trip per year. All
trip expenses are paid for by the department.
