Piedmont partners with PBS

Piedmont College is home to radio station WPPR, 88.3 FM. WPPR is part of the Georgia Public Radio Network (GPR). This 14-station network covers all of Georgia as well as parts of five other states.

Radio studio

Each semester, students submit works for consideration to the producers of Georgia Gazette. The students whose works are selected for airing on Georgia Gazette use the state-of-the-art production facilities at GPR in order to make their final edits before having their story air on the 14 station radio network.

Producers at GPR, including St. John Flynn and Susanna Capaluto, have been instrumental in providing on-going advice to the mass comm program regarding everything from technology choices to story ideas as well as hosting our students on a regular basis at GPR in Atlanta.

PBS LIBRARY:

TV Piedmont has acquired significant holdings from the PBS library and through agreement with PBS will begin airing programs in the spring of 2005 including Frontline, Nova, and other PBS documentaries and specials. Professors can request airtimes for the PBS programs by contacting Professor Simon at ssimon@piedmont.edu.
