WRFP also sponsored a Rock Band contest after the concert. Winners of the tournament received $100 in cash.
High school seniors stayed with current Piedmont students overnight and had the option of attending classes with their host student or another class that interested them. This gives the college a chance to recruit and seniors a more in-depth college experience than just a visitation day.
High school senior Maria Carter says she loves the atmosphere of Piedmont. She recalls on her visitation day that she was generously helped when she asked for directions. She says that the top qualities she looks for when selecting a college are the people, the program she wants to study and the golf program.
Carter wants to major in mass communications and is a fan of Piedmont’s Mass Communications Department.
“I really like the focus on radio, journalism and television because it’s what I want to do,” says Carter,
Many Piedmont students enjoy meeting the seniors and hosting them. The high school seniors were able to ask questions and hang out with college students, giving them a better idea of what they want in a college.
