Why Do I Debate:
The answer is simple, I am good at arguing. Ever since I was a child I would always ask questions (why?...why?...why?...) and wonder why things were a certain way. My friends and family always suggested that I join a debate team so that I could educate myself on world issues and get out some pent up anger. When I got to college I met a cool guy named Ruben Mendez who said I should join. So along with the help of Ruben, Dr. Moss, and Dr. Blakeslee I became a debater overnight. Debating in my mind is a creative outlet, a way for people to see me in a crowd.

My Best Debate Experience So Far:
My most momerable debate trip was my first one at Vanderbilt University. My partner was Matthew Jackson and we were on the Affirmative for the Morrison case. I can remember it like yesterday, our opponent was Maverick and the Judge was from Louisville who believes in ethos, pathos, and logos. I remember reading my poem and pouring my heart and soul into it. After a two hour long debate the judge finally announced that we had won. I fell back in my seat and cried because I was so thrilled to have won for the first time. I will never forget how wonderful it felt to debate your heart out and win.
