Why Do I Debate:
I have always been intimidated my debate. In high school I used to be friends with some people on the debate team, and they were always the students that did the best in school. I grew up thinking that Debate kids were smart, and knew how to argue a point. This is why when i was asked to join the debate team I said yes, but my in my head there was this voice screaming "NNNOOOOO!!". Eventually, I did join the debate team, I attended a couple of matches, and now i realize that debaters are just normal people. They laugh, play, and have fun just like normal teens. The only difference is, debate is taken very seriously. I'm still assimilating to the situation.

My Best Debate Experience So Far:
My best experience with debate so far would have to be our trip to West GA college. There are two reasons for this. One, this is the only big thing that I have done with the debate team so far. And two, my home town is Carrollton, GA, where West GA College is located. During this trip I got my first glimpse of College debate. It was scary to see the varsity teams, and even scarier to hear them speed talk, but the other debates were very interesting. This experience was the main thing that helped me not to be so intimidated by debate. I know now that Debate is suppose to be fun and educational.
