Art Museum Schedule

All receptions and shows take place in the Mason-Scharfenstein Museum of Art on Georgia Street in the Demorest square.

Regular Hours: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday

Permanent Collection

The museum houses a permanent collection of primarily 19th and 20th-century American and European artwork collected over the past 40 years by Piedmont Trustee Dr. Bill Mason and Bob Scharfenstein, both of Birmingham, Ala. A smaller gallery features a variety of exhibits by students, faculty, and invited artists.

Angela Kelly Art Exhibit

Angela Kelly's work presents fragments of geographical information which are overlaid with private snapshots and landscape imagery to explore the nature of personal photography and cultural memory.

Japanese Pottery: The Rising Generation from Traditional Japanese Kilns

A masterful survey of diverse ceramic work from Japan by its leading and up-and-coming artists. This show is generously provided by the Japan Foundation in coordination with the Japanese Consulate's Office in Atlanta, Georgia.

High School Art Show

Smith-Williams Studios Gallery
The Smith-Williams gallery is transformed into a showcase featuring the works of area high school seniors.

Enid Williams Art Exhibit

Feb. 15–April 4
Reception March 12
Williams' work is an inquiry into the physical and intellectual process of perception, especially the manner in which we read and understand pictorial space.
