The Piedmont Music Department has been described as a "hidden gem" in Habersham County. The department is directly involved in the cultural life of the community by providing performances of high artistic quality on and off-campus. Students and faculty have a continuous desire to create music of the highest caliber, whether vocal or instrumental.
It is the mission of the Piedmont College Department of Music to provide students with challenging and diverse experiences in music history and literature, theory, performance, and pedagogy. This mission is accomplished with the curriculum and the multiple performing groups, including Chamber Singers, Chorale, Wind Ensemble, String Ensemble, and Cantabile.
In addition to the campus groups, the Music Department invites performers to their stage. Visitors range from baroque instrumentalists to world renowned choirs, such as the Atlanta Boy Choir. Community members are welcome to attend campus and visiting performances to discover the originality of the Piedmont Music Department.
