Art Club Events
The Piedmont College Art Club works with Kappa Pi on campus events and charity events year round.
Empty Bowls is an international grassroots effort to fight hunger. Potters and other craftspeople, educators, and students work with the community to create handcrafted bowls. Guests are invited to a simple meal of soup and bread and are asked to keep their bowl as a reminder of all the empty bowls in the world. The money raised is donated to an organization working to end hunger and food insecurity. This year’s Empty Bowls benefited the Habersham County Soup Kitchen in Clarkesville, GA.
Annual Halloween Ball
The Halloween Ball is a yearly campus tradition hosted by Alpha Psi Omega, Kappa Pi, and the Art Club. The event is planned by students and students from across campus go to the ball in individual, couple, or group themed costumes and compete to be the Halloween Ball Queen and King. The winners recieve hats created by the Kappa Pi Faculty Advisor.
For the last few years, Piedmont College QEP has developed a program for Earth Day. Kappa Pi and Art Club host tables at the event that incorporates art into Earth Day.
Throughout the year Kappa Pi and Art Club host Open Mic NIghts during freshmen orientation or senior overnight. The events are a big hit and Piedmont students step out of their comfort zones to share music, poetry, or comedy acts that they've created.
