Childs, Head Coach

Entering her second season leading the Piedmont College women's basketball
coaching staff is head coach Jamie Childs. Childs was promoted to
the top position on July 12th, 2005. The Piedmont College alum returns
to her alma mater from Middle Georgia College where she has served
as the head women's basketball coach for the past two seasons.
In her first season at Piedmont, Childs led the Lady Lions to a 20-7
overall record and 11-3 conference mark.
In
two seasons at Middle Georgia, Childs recorded a career record of
31-21 (.596) and led her 2004-2005 squad to the Georgia Junior College
Athletic Association championship game.
Childs was the
assistant women's basketball Coach at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural
College (ABAC) after beginning her coaching career at Statesboro
High School for two years while attending Georgia Southern University.
Childs received
her Master of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology
from Georgia Southern University and her bachelor's degree in Psychology
from here at Piedmont College.
While at Piedmont,
Childs lettered in basketball for four years under former head coach
Charles Cooper and softball for two years under current head coach
Terry Martin.
Childs attended
Statesboro High School in Statesboro, GA where she was part of the
basketball, softball, cross country, and track teams throughout
her high school career.
