Maryville Advances To GSAC Volleyball Championship
Top-seeded Maryville College earned a right to play for the league's first-ever automatic qualification to the NCAA Divison-III National Championship Tournament with a victory over fourth-seeded LaGrange College at the 2006 Great South Athletic Conference Volleyball Championship at Piedmont College in Demorest, GA.
The Lady Scots defeated the Lady Panthers 30-18, 30-19 and 30-18 and will face third-seeded Piedmont at 1:00 for a berth in the 2006 NCAA Division-III National Championship Tournament.
Maryville improves to 24-11 while LaGrange's season ends with a 12-16 overall record.
