Stephens, Head Coach

Entering
his second season as the head coach of the Piedmont College men's
and women's soccer programs is Jimmy Stephens. The PC alumni came
back to PC after five seasons as the head men's coach and three seasons
as the head women's coach at NAIA Emmanuel College. In 2003, Stephens
led the EC men's team to an NAIA regional tournament bid.
In his inaugural season at Piedmont, Stephens led both teams to a
runner-up finish in the Great South Athletic Conference Championship.
His men's team finished with a 10-10 record while the women posted
a 13-8 mark. In 2005, Stephens had a total of six players named to
the GSAC All-Conference team and four on the league's All-Freshman
team. His women's squad earned the 2005 National Soccer Coaches Association
of America (NSCAA) Team Academic Award for carrying a 3.42 cumulative
GPA.
Stephens grew
up in Buford, GA playing soccer since the age of ten. While at Piedmont,
he was the captain of the men's soccer team for three years and
was voted Most Versatile Player by the coaching staff. After graduation,
he managed The Soccer Academy in Lilburn, GA while earning his USSF
"B" license.
Stephens is an active member of both the NSCAA and the USSF.
Stephens and
his wife, Monica, the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions
at Piedmont, reside in Habersham, GA with their son Noah.

Lauren
Fritsch, Assistant Coach
Lauren Fritsch hails from Marietta, Georgia and enters her second
year as an assistant coach for the Piedmont College soccer program
after an impressive career as goalkeeper for the Lady Lions.
Fritsch was
a four-year starter between the posts where she broke all pre-existing
records for the Piedmont College women’s soccer program. She
was a three-year captain a four-year Great South All-Conference
member.
Fritsch was
a four-year member of the NCCAA South Region All-Academic team and
All-Region team. She was also named to the NCCAA All-American team
for four years.
Fritsch earned
her undergraduate degree in political science with minors in criminal
justice and business administration from Piedmont College in 2005
and was a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Gamma Chapter. She is currently
pursuing her Master’s degree in Business Administration from
Piedmont College.
