Lady Lions Down Defending USA-South Champions On The Road
Kayla Duncan led four Piedmont College players who scored in double-figures
as visiting Piedont College defeated Greensboro College 69-51 at Hanes
Gym tonight in Greensboro, NC. Piedmont jumped out to a 14-point (34-20)
lead at the break and held off the Pride for the region road victory.
Piedmont used a
15-4 run to lead 50-35 with 9:50 on the clock. The visitor’s biggest
lead was 21 points when Duncan made a free throw to put the score at
66-45 with 2:55 left.
Beth Adcock scored
13 points, Nikki Sosebee had 11 and Yetta Bailey came off the bench
to add 10 for the Lions. Duncan was 8-11 from the field for PC. Piedmont
shot 48% (25-52) to 31% (18-59) for Greensboro.
Piedmont returns to action on Sunday, December 3rd when the Lady Lions
host another USA-South opponent, Methodist University, with tip-off
slated for 2:00 PM in Cave Arena.
