Women's Basketball Team Defeats Wesleyan In Conference Opener

The Piedmont College women's basketball team opened up its Great South
Athletic Conference schedule tonight with an easy 81-32 victory over
Wesleyan College in the Johnny Mize Athletic Center. Piedmont placed
13 different players in the box score as the Lady Lions even their overall
record at 3-3 while moving to 1-0 in league play.
Piedmont jumped to a 45-19 halftime lead and then limited the visiting
Pioneers to a slim 13 second-half points. PC recorded a season-high
19 steals while forcing 30 Wesleyan turnovers.
Danielle Dutcher came off the bench to lead all scorers with a game-high
17 points on 8-10 shooting from the floor. Teammate Jammie Boyce added
eight points and a career-high 10 rebounds.
Piedmont returns to action on Friday, December 1st when the team travels
to Greensboro, NC to take on the defending USA-South Athletic Conference
champion Greensboro College at 6:00 PM.
